Draw on your knowledge of the asana (posture) and be present in the asana with fewer instructions than a regular class. This gives you an opportunity to work in the asana to your ability.
You are then given the time and a quiet space to inhabit that space. It provides you with the freedom to really be in the asana.
This practice is suitable for those with knowledge of yogasana, so it's not suitable to beginners or those new to Iyengar Yoga.
